The Crisis Hotline

We operate a 24-hour, 365-day-a-year crisis hotline. Our crisis line advocates assist clients with referral services, safety planning, and coming into the shelter. If you or someone you love need help escaping violence or creating a safety plan, contact us today.

Violence Prevention & Education

The River Valley Shelter offers education trainings, community events, and safety resources for survivors and helpers.

Emergency Shelter & Healing

The River Valley Shelter provides secure emergency shelter and access to basic needs for survivors of domestic violence and their families daily.

Safety After & Outside
of Shelter

Survivors and their families leaving our shelter have access to advocacy and ongoing support even after they exit our shelter. These resources are also available to any survivors who don't require emergency shelter.

The Thrift Store

Survivors working with The River Valley Shelter shop for free at The Thrift Store using vouchers. Sales to the public help support our mission. The store accepts clothing, furniture, and household items necessary for families to establish independent living and replace items left behind.

Our Advocates Want to Help You

Advocates may ask questions to learn more about your situation, but you are in control. They will not presume to know what is best for you. They will help you brainstorm options that are best for you and respect your choices.

Our programs are for people of all races, ethnicities, ages, gender identities, sexual orientations, abilities, and religions. Services offered by The River Valley Shelter are free of charge and are confidential.
